Book Summary
Do you have dreams you want to achieve that seem impossible because of your lack of time?
Do you wish there was a way to strive forward without giving up luxuries such as sleep and self-care?
Well, with “The 80/20 Principle” by Richard Koch, you can!
In this book, Koch will give you all the information you need in order to reach your goals without losing sleep or losing your mind!
“Golden rules for career success: 1 Specialize in a very small niche; develop a core skill 2 Choose a niche that you enjoy, where you can excel and stand a chance of becoming an acknowledged leader 3 Realize that knowledge is power 4 Identify your market and your core customers and serve them best 5 Identify where 20 percent of effort gives 80 percent of returns 6 Learn from the best 7 Become self-employed early in your career 8 Employ as many net value creators as possible 9 Use outside contractors for everything but your core skill 10 Exploit capital leverage”- Richard Koch
He will teach you how to get the maximum results with minimum input. Because it is possible to get all the rewards with just a little bit of effort!
Against popular belief, effort and reward are not directly correlated. Most people believe you get out of something what you put into it, but that’s just not true.
A lot of people waste time putting their energy into things that are not reaping rewards. They are time-wasters.
The idea of hard work is connected with superficial appearances. For example, you wouldn’t think a beggar in NYC is working hard. But, think about it, they are standing in sometimes horrible weather conditions, competing with all the other beggars around for a little bit of outcome. That’s hard work!
However, if you watch the stock market and tailor your strategy toward it, you are putting in a little effort with the possibility of a big reward.
People are often obsessed with time-management. But, that really shouldn’t be the goal. It is more important to be doing things that are effective, rather than trying to be efficient with the twenty-four hours you have in a day.
The 80/20 Principle states that 80% of a person’s successes require only 20% of their time. This is because efficiency is totally useless if you are not focused on the right things.
For example, if you are writing an essay and it’s going well and you have all the main points highlighted, it is a total waste of time if you did not follow the correct prompt.
Stephen Convey, a self-help writer who wrote, “First Things First”, describes a metaphor called “the clock and compass.” The clock is how people use their time-management skills. And, the compass is how they navigate where they are going. Both tools are important for any human. But, the compass is more important because it is directing you toward your end-goal.
A lot of people don’t see the connection...

Great product. Have used them for a long time. One of my favorite things about them is that they are able to summarize a whole book into just 10 minutes.
